Purchase Request
Resource Purchase Request is a service for our faculty, staff, and students to request the purchase of resources.
When recommending resources, the recommender will be given priority.
Steps for Purchase Request

- The application can be canceled only when the progress status is "Application Submitted."

Points to note
- • Please make sure that the resource you wish to request is not in the library's collection before submitting your application. (Search "Books in our collection")
- • If the item is not held in the library but is in the selection or ordering process, the application may be withdrawn
- When requesting resources by direct entry, you must enter accurate bibliographic information (signature, author, publisher, year of publication, ISBN) for the resource you are applying for. If the information entered is inaccurate, the application may be canceled
- • Requested purchases may be subject to cancellation if they do not meet the selection criteria
- • Requests in excess of the maximum allowed amount may be placed on hold or canceled due to budgetary constraints. Resources placed on hold will be purchased within budgetary allowances at the end of the academic year
- • The Request Program for the Purchase of Resources is administered on an academic year basis and may be closed early due to budgetary constraints
- • If a book application is submitted with a promise of financial gain from the publisher or sales staff, the book application will be canceled, and the applicant may be disadvantaged in future book applications
- • Non-book resources (DVDs, etc.) may be recommended only if six months have passed from the date of publication in accordance with Article 29 of the Copyright Law and Article 11 of its enforcement ordinance
- • Purchased resources will be notified via SMS and email when the consolidation is complete
- • Resources that have been organized can be checked out within 3 days (including the date of receipt of the information message) at the lending room of the relevant building. However, recommended materials cannot be checked out due to sanctions or other reasons at the time the sorting is completed
- • It takes about 15 days for domestic books and about 60 days for foreign books to be sorted out after recommendation
Resource Selection Criteria
- Academic resources necessary for university education and research
- Main teaching resources, supplementary resources, and reference resources required for the undergraduate (departmental) curriculum
- Recommended and award-winning resources in various fields and widely used general education books
- Selection based on the current and potential needs of users
- Priority is given to books written by current faculty members and books published by the school's in-house publishing department
- Selection is made with priority given to the most up-to-date resources in the science and engineering fields and to core resources in the humanities and social sciences, even if they are retrospective resources
- Selection is based on the authority of the publishing institution and author
Criteria for purchasing duplicate copies
- In principle, one copy of each type shall be selected for a single book
- In the following cases, a maximum of 5 books may be selected, even if they are duplicates
- Main resources, supplementary materials, and reference materials for majors and subject courses
- Resources that are difficult to use within one week for reasons other than loan
- • Resources that are not easily accessible due to disposal, damage, or clipping
- Resources are judged to be in need of additional purchase by the staff in charge, considering the utilization rate and expected utilization rate
- Books are written by faculty members and publications of the school's internal organizations
Books not available for selection
- Cartoons (with the exception of academic, current affairs, and culture cartoons)
- Religious biased books
- Materials that are not up to university level or aimed at children or elementary, junior high, and high school students
- Common martial arts magazines, fantasy novels, light novels, and obscene materials that have no value as library collection resources
- Examination books and question collections in which more than 70% of the pages are in the form of questions
- Materials with insufficient content as educational/learning resources or with inaccurate and outdated information
- • Books that have lost their value due to social changes such as law amendments, technological developments, and new fact-finding
- Books in languages that are generally difficult to acces
- Section books that have been revised or expanded
- Photocopies or facsimile editions of original resources
- Books in poor condition of printing, paperback, temporary title type, rose decorated, or spring bound books
- Booklets smaller than A6 (148 x 105 mm) or books with less than 49 pages
